Teaching parents may teach and parent children who have had some crisis in their lives. Implement the “Teaching Parent” model; training provided to emphasize practical, family – style solutions. Live-in cottage 24 hours a day, 8 days on in a row; four days off work cycle. Cottage Manager for Adolescent Mother and Child/Early Childhood - Austin Children's Shelter
The Cottage Manager for Adolescent Mother and Child/Early Childhood position at the Austin Children’s Shelter (ACS) will be directly responsible for the overall program and staff leadership for their designated cottage on the 7-acre ACS Campus in East Austin. Major responsibilities include staff supervision, program development and case management for ACS residents of the adolescent mother and child and early childhood program. This program provides residential services to teen mothers placed at ACS with their child/children and unaccompanied children under the age of 8 (placed without parent). They will directly engage with ACS residents and help to plan daily activity schedules, assessment and diagnostic treatment, safety planning and implementation, and conducting crisis interventions with clients. Work hours will vary depending on need and can include overnight, weekends and on-call. One of the following combinations of education and experience are required: Graduation from an accredited 4-year College or University with a degree in a social service related field with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social work or other human services field; prefer specialization in children and families. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Residential child care experience serving a broad range of ages from infants to teenagers, with experience with teens is preferred. Thorough understanding of early childhood and adolescent development with a focus on the dynamics of abuse and neglect and attachment and bonding is preferred. Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services announces a great opportunity for a family to provide foster care services for four or more youth in a beautiful home located in Dallas, Texas. PCHAS seeks to lease its home in Dallas to a licensed foster family serving children through its foster care program. The licensed foster family will need to become a licensed foster family with PCHAS. The home is located adjacent to Juliette Fowler Homes, Inc. Juliette Fowler Homes is in collaboration with PCHAS and is located at 1234 Abrams Road, Dallas, TX 75214. The majority of the house will need to be furnished by the renter. PCHAS would lease the home using a typical Texas residential lease and include the following provisions: The tenant must be or become an active PCHAS licensed foster family serving (or ready, willing, and able to serve) 4-6 children throughout the term of the lease. Monthly rent has yet to be determined, but will likely be $700. The security deposit has yet to be determined, but will likely be $500- $700. Tenant Foster Family will pay for all utilities: (PCHAS will maintain electrical, gas, water, wastewater, and garbage service for the home, but the tenant will fully reimburse PCHAS for the actual
cost of the services.) The tenant will be fully responsible for all other utilities such as telephone, alarm
