    Advocacy

Unite to Advocate for Children and Families

Advocating for children is at the heart of the Alliance mission. Alliance members strengthen and expand their influence with policy makers by joining with other agencies to:

    • Educate elected officials and state agency leaders about the needs of the children in care and the effectiveness of private sector services
    • Promote adequate funding for children and family services
    • Ensure that regulations and rules are practical and reasonable as well as effective

The effectiveness of Alliance advocacy efforts depends on members staying informed and actively participating in the policy and legislative process and by communicating regularly with their own elected officials.

Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services contributes to building a stronger voice children and families through collaboration with other child advocacy organizations at both the state and national levels. Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services is a member of the Child Welfare League of America, the National Alliance for Children and Families, and Texans Care for Children.
