April candidly shares her experiences at workshops, conferences, schools and via her iTunes podcast Born in June, Raised in April to help families and professionals understand both the beauty and complexity of foster care and adoption.
Dr. David Sanders
Dr. David Sanders, Executive Vice President of Systems Improvement at Casey Family Programs, will share his experience leading L.A. County child welfare, serving on the National Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities, and years within Casey Family Programs to reinforce the need to create a 21st Century Child Well-being system that does not just react to child abuse and neglect, but intervenes earlier to support families and to prevent harm from happening in the first place. Dr. Sanders is a leader, scholar, and influencer that is challenging the national convention and supporting our work in Texas and across the country.
Elizabeth Darling, former President and CEO of the Texas OneStar Foundation, is making Texas proud as the Commissioner at the Administration on Children, Youth and Families. Commissioner Darling will share her vision, priorities and how Texas can help shape the direction of child and youth serving systems for the nation. We will welcome her back to our Conference one year into her tenure to hear her thoughts on the implementation of FFPSA, child welfares response to COVID, and whats ahead for our work.
