WHAT WE DO
Training and Consultation: The Center designs and implements training using evidence-based best practices that are grounded in research. Our goal in training and consultation is to help member organizations best serve vulnerable children, youth, and families. The Center offers formal workshops and conferences, as well as customized consultation. Training and consultation includes:
Best Practices: We work with organizations, agencies, and associations that support Texas’ most vulnerable children and provide guidance on best practices for working with biological families, capacity building, supporting youth that age out of foster care, and trauma informed practices.
Education and Research: Education and academic research provide a firm foundation for sound policymaking and effective implementation of high-quality services for Texas foster care children. The Center draws from the latest state and national child welfare trends, as well as evidenced-based practices in providing services to children and families affected by abuse and neglect. The Center’s work includes the development and dissemination of this information to direct-care organizations and public and private partners.
